We’ve put together a plan that will help you train through another lockdown.
This 10 week plan gives you a day-by-day training schedule, and each session differs in volume based on whether you're a Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced triathlete. But don't worry too much about getting your specific level right, go on feel and what you're comfortable with.
Beginner - New to triathlon and looking to complete their first triathlon. 3.5-4.5 hours training per week
Intermediate - Possibly having done a triathlon before and looking to be better. Potentially having completed Winter miles plan. 4.5-5.5 hours training per week
Advanced - Seasoned triathlete. 5-7 hours training per week
Swimming has been replaced by extra strength sessions to keep your upper body condition going whilst you’re out of the water. However we've given you some 'return to swim sessions' if your pool reopen's whilst you're still doing the programme (and fingers crossed they do).
We’ve added challenges in too. Its important to still have goals during this lockdown period. You’ll have a 20 minute bike test (weeks 4 & 8) and 5k run challenge (weeks 5 & 9).
Finally, on the bike, we've created turbo sessions if you're unable to ride outside.
